Switch’d is an insurance careers platform operated by New Reign Capital, LLC (“Switch’d”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, who can see it, and how to make us stop.
The short version: your profile is hidden by default. Employers browsing candidates see your experience, not your name. You decide when that changes, and applying to a job is the usual way it does.
1. What we collect
- Account details — name, email, password (stored hashed, never in readable form).
- What you put on your profile — headline, summary, work history, location, licences, designations, systems, salary expectations, availability, LinkedIn address, photo, and any résumé you upload.
- What you do here — jobs you apply to, messages you send through the platform, interviews scheduled, and outreach you accept or decline.
- Employer details — for hiring accounts, your company, role, job posts and pipeline activity.
- Technical data — IP address, browser, and request logs, kept for security and debugging.
We do not verify credentials. Licences and designations are self-reported and shown as such. We do not check state insurance department records, the NIPR, or any issuer.
2. What employers can actually see
Your current employer can never see you. Tell us where you work now — picking them from the list, so we match the right company — and we keep you out of their candidate searches and stop them contacting you. This holds on every visibility setting below, including Open. It is the one guarantee that does not depend on a choice you have to remember to make.
Beyond that, your profile has a visibility setting. It starts at Open, and nothing is visible to anyone until you publish.
- Open (the default) — a full profile: your name, photo, current title and employer, and location, visible to employers on a paid plan. Not indexed by search engines unless you separately turn that on.
- Shielded — employers browsing candidates see your experience, seniority, location area, licences and designations. They do not see your name, your photo, your current employer, or your contact details. Switch to this at any time in Who can see you.
- Private — invisible to employers entirely. You can still search and apply.
Applying introduces you. When you apply to a job, that specific employer sees who you are — that is what an application is. It does not reveal you to any other employer. When an employer reaches out to you first, they are disclosed to you and you stay hidden until you accept.
Small groups are withheld rather than shown: if a search would return too few candidates to be anonymous, we return nothing rather than a group of one.
You can block a company, an entire email domain, or an individual recruiter. A block hides you from them and prevents them contacting you.
3. Profiles someone else created about you
Recruiting agencies can enter a record about a candidate they are representing before that person has an account. If that has happened to you:
- Only the agency that created it can see it. It is not on the public platform.
- It is not published, and it is not shown to employers browsing candidates, until you claim it and publish it yourself.
- You can claim it — which puts you in control of it — or ask us to delete it, at privacy@switchd.app. We do not require you to create an account to have it removed.
4. How we use it
- To run the product: show you jobs, rank matches, carry messages, book interviews.
- To match you to roles. Matching compares what you listed against what the employer listed. It is a published, deterministic scoring rubric — not a black box, and no application is ever automatically rejected. A person decides.
- To email you about activity you are part of, and only that. See section 7.
- To take payment from employers, to prevent abuse, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
5. Who we share it with
- Employers — only as described in section 2, and only ever the projection your settings allow.
- Service providers we depend on — hosting and database (Render), payments (Stripe, who handle card details directly; we never see or store your card number), and email delivery. They process data on our instructions.
- Nobody else — except where the law requires it, or to investigate abuse or protect someone’s safety.
6. Deleting your account
Account settings → Close your account. This is not a hidden flag. When you close an account we overwrite your name, email, phone, LinkedIn, photo and résumé; revoke every employer’s access to your details immediately; withdraw your live applications; and release your email address so you can sign up again later if you want.
What survives: an employer keeps an anonymous record that someone applied and what was decided. They are required to keep hiring records, and it no longer says who you were.
You can also ask us to do any of this by writing to privacy@switchd.app.
7. Email
We email you when something is waiting on you — someone applied, an employer reached out, an interview needs a time, you have a message. Subject lines are deliberately vague (“You have a new applicant”), never naming an employer or candidate, because a preview on a lock screen should not out you. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect what you see inside the app.
8. Retention
We keep your profile while your account is open. Closed accounts are scrubbed immediately as described above. Application and hiring records are retained by the employer for as long as employment law requires them to be. Request logs are kept for a short operational window.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the CCPA/CPRA in California and the GDPR in the UK and EEA — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Most of these you can exercise yourself in the app. For anything else, write to privacy@switchd.app and we will respond within the period the applicable law requires. We will not treat you differently for asking.
10. Cookies and storage
We use browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember which company you are acting as. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
11. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed. Access to candidate data runs through a single enforcement point in our code so that visibility rules cannot be sidestepped by one forgotten query. No system is perfect; if you find a problem, please tell us at security@switchd.app and we will treat it seriously.
12. International transfers
We operate in the United States and your data is processed there. If you use Switch’d from outside the US, you are sending your data to the US.
13. Children
Switch’d is for working professionals and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
14. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects what employers can see, we will tell you in the product before it takes effect — not only by editing this page.
15. Contact
privacy@switchd.app for anything in this policy. support@switchd.app for everything else.
