Senior Underwriter, Middle Market General Industries

AXA XL Middle Markets serves mid-sized customers across the U.S. Commercial P&C market and is in an exciting phase of growth. As a Senior Underwriter you will help build and expand our presence in the West Territory, partnering with brokers and clients to deliver tailored underwriting solutions, drive profitable growth, and shape the future of the Middle Market business. Offices: Los Angeles, Irvine, San Diego, San Francisco. You will report to the Underwriting Manager, West Middle Market. Essential responsibilities - Underwrite both new and renewal business; help achieve profitable premium and rate goals, working with actuarial and claims. - Contribute to planning through your own annual desk-level underwriting plan. - Adhere to underwriting guidelines, authorities and referral requirements. - Ensure high quality service standards and compliance with internal audit guidelines. - Work collaboratively, assisting underwriters, underwriting assistants and management. - Travel throughout the territory for broker, client, and internal meetings. - Develop, maintain and service broker relationships; coordinate with brokers on their marketing and education needs. - Represent the company at internal/external functions and industry events. - Cross-sell across the Middle Market business unit to maximize deployment of AXA XL's capital. What we're looking for - Outstanding knowledge of the US insurance industry and in-depth technical knowledge of P&C product offerings, with effective broker relationships. - A moderate amount of Middle Market insurance experience (e.g., underwriting, claims, or insurance-related business development). - Drive to differentiate AXA XL through our offerings and how we conduct business. Pay: $107,600 - $209,100 per year.
